MMC Benefits became a reality in the fall of 2004, a dream and a vision of Patrick W. Moore. The company sprang into existence at the urging of fellow partner Gabriel L. Christensen. (Read more about Pat Moore and Gabe Christensen here.)
The mission of MMC Benefits is to provide financial services designed to satisfy an overlooked sector of the business community: the small business owner. Companies having less than 100 employees are limited in the quality of benefit programs available to them on behalf of employees. Our primary concern is to listen to our clients and then design an insurance, benefits, and/or retirement program to benefit their business and employees.
Working with entrepreneurs is a specialty of our firm. Some financial professionals choose not to work with small companies. Compliance and ERISA issues, along with HIPAA regulations and now the ACA, are all specific laws and rules that need to be applied when working with any business. These business planning articles contain valuable information about starting and running your business.
How many companies with less than 100 employees can afford HR personnel to manage these issues? Very few. At MMC, we have the ability to bridge the gap and fill the void of not having an HR department. Our clients’ employees are encouraged, with their company’s permission, to call us directly with any questions regarding their benefits. We can assist by educating them about the services we provide. This service is, in fact, a benefit that we have incorporated into the design element of every benefits package.
We typically meet with our clients twice per year to review the plan to determine if it is operating according to design.
